Richard B. Cheney, prominent public servant and businessman, is the vice president. Cheney is an established figure in Washington's political landscape. George W. Bush who is set to become the new President of the U.S. will be Cheney's fourth. Bush chose Cheney as his vice president in July of 2000. Bush cited the experience and wisdom of Cheney. Dick Cheney is a former chief of staff to presidents, worked in Congress as well as Secretary of Defense. He's a man of integrity whom is admired by Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney has said that he sees his role in the administration as that of an honest but professional advisor to Bush. Cheney accepted his appointment as Republican vice president he wants to be a president candidate who will be a cross-partisan collaborator and work with their political adversaries with respect and in a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney (born January 30, 1941) was the son of Richard Herbert Cheney. His mother, Marjorie Lauraine Dickey had been wed to Richard Herbert Cheney for over 30 years. After 13 years of age, old, he relocated along with his parents into Casper located in western part of Wyoming in Wyoming, where his father ran the local district of soil conservation for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
