I was a gruelling 12 hour days cleaning floors and tear down wallpaper one baby strapped to my back and the others playing inside the playpen. Ha! All was starting to take shape, however there was still a long way to go. It would take lots of time and money and my personal favorite brands furnishings for this house. To stay within the budget, I started by taking my sons to estate sales looking for of diamonds. We had a weekly schedule which consisted of spending the week from Friday through Saturday at estate and garage sales, purchasing new and old things. I spent the rest of the week painting and sanding on the driveway. My passion for restoration of furniture began when I saw a style like this. Once our home was decorated, I couldn't quit! There was a market in the area for me to market my items. Eventually, my collection grew enough that the area I had available was inadequate. At home, I would host open houses in which more than 1000 people could come in to purchase anything they liked on the 1st floor in just one weekend. This is where my business Growing Days was born. When my business grew, so did our little family. There was a perfect balance between the start of a company and becoming a mother. Growing Days seemed like the perfect match. The year 2013 was the year my daughter Nora became our fourth daughter. My company was doing well but I was in need of a break. I decided to step back to spend time at home, with my children. At the time, it was the ideal thing to do. After a while, off the phone started to ring. I was getting calls from people asking for help with the interior decoration and remodeling. The majority of them were those who had walked through my home during the open houses for furniture! Then I slowly took on more clients, in my own way. Then I was able to have many customers and was operating as a home improvement business. I'm sure you would have laughed at me had I had told you that this was going to be the subject of the DIY Network tv series. It's fun to reflect about the idea.
